Announcement of 2011 Young Generation Forum in Korea

The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) announced the Young Generation Forum (“YGF”) 2011 will be held in Korea from July 4 to 9, 2011. The YGF 2011 will bring 90 young generation from all over the world including U.S.A, Japan, Germany, Canada (12 participants), etc. as well as 40 young generation Koreans.

YGF seeks to promote young Korean scientists, engineers and specialists

(1) to contribute to the advancement in contemporary science and technology

(2) to understand the current scientific and technological development in Korea

(3) to establish cooperative networking.

Eligibility:

l  Ethnic Korean-Canadian students (Junior (2nd & 3rd), Senior (4th), Masters, Ph.D. or Post-Doc) under age of 35 (born after 1977) whose major is related to Science and Technology (includes; medical, dental, nursing and pharmaceutical school) and can communicate in English (Note: Korean citizen students temporary studying abroad are not eligible).

l  The applicants must enroll in a University (Bachelor program) and the graduate school program (Masters and Doctoral). Senior students can only apply if they plan to continue the graduate program.

l  Must be 1.5th (attended a Gr.9 in CANADA) or 2nd generations of Korean immigrants who are citizens or permanent residents of CANADA.

-Complete application form (download from AKCSE website; www.akcse.org)

-Copy of CANADA passport (or Permanent Resident Card)

-Most recent transcript (GPA convert to %)

-Recommendation letter
