AKCSE President Greeting
Welcome to the website of the Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers (AKCSE).
It is my honour and privilege to serve as the AKCSE President for the two year term from Jan 2010 to Dec 2011.
AKCSE was established in 1986 as a non-profit professional organization and has grown to over 1000 registered members with 10 local chapters and 2 professional groups (Korean Ontario Nursing Association and Korean Expert Society in Calgary) across Canada.
In addition, we have 2 Young Generation chapters based in Toronto and Vancouver. There are also 4 student chapters. I appreciate very much the concerted efforts of the previous leadership in the last 23 years to shape the organization the way it is today.
Our organization objectives are to;
- Promote the application of science and technology for the general welfare of society,
- Help Korean–Canadian scientists and engineers develop their full career potential in both Canada and Korea,
- Serve the Korean community by delivering scientific and technological information,
- Foster international cooperation especially among Canada and Korea, and in particular among the second generation (Young Generation),
- Network with other Korean-Canadian scientists and engineers.
- Build a strong scholarship foundation (to develop the leaders of tomorrow).
I understand that there are many challenges still ahead of us to improve and fulfill the above objectives of AKCSE. Drawing from individual talents and enthusiasm towards the organizational objectives, all fellow members can collaboratively achieve extraordinary results. I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much you are valued. Let us work together to continue to develop and build our organization into something we can continue to be proud of.
