2008년 대한민국에서 열리는 “국제 젊은 과학•기술자 Forum”에 카나다를 대표할 참가자를 모집합니다!


한국 과학기술단체 총연합회(The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies; www.kofst.or.kr) 에서는 2008년 7월 14일(월)부터 19일(토)까지 미국을 비롯한 일본, 독일, 캐나다 등지의 해외동포 청년과학도 80명과 한국의 청년과학기술자 40명 등 총 120명이 참가한 가운데 한국에서 “2008 Young Generation Forum”을 개최할 계획입니다.
이 Young Generation Forum(이하 YG Forum)은 국내외 청년과학기술자들이 미래 첨단과학기술분야의 비전에 대한 상호의견 교환 및 내외동포 전문가들간에 네트워킹 협력체계 구축을 통하여 21세기 지식기반사회를 선도하는 Global Leader 로서의 자질 함양은 물론 민족 유대감을 높일 목적으로 본 연합회가 2002년도 부터 매해 개최하고 있습니다.

참가대상 및 자격:
시민권이나 영주권을 소지한 1.5세대 이후 한인동포로, 1974년 이후 출생한 과학기술관련 전공 학부 3학년 이상 ~ 박사 후 과정까지의 재학생에 한하며 영어로 의사소통이 가능해야 합니다. 유학생은 참가 자격이 없는 점 유의하시고(여권 사본, 항공권 사본, 항공권 구입 영수증과 더불어 한국 여권 소지 영주권자의 경우 추후 항공료 지급 시 해당국 green card 등 permanent residence 증빙 자료 제출 요망) 또한 지난 2002 ~ 2007년도 YG Forum에 이미 참가한 학생은 참가 자격이 제한되므로 학생 선발 시 이 점 감안하여 추천해 주시기 바랍니다.

참가경비:
참가비는 없으며, 5박6일간의 항공료 일부 및 체재비는 한국 과학기술단체 총연합회에서 부담하게 됩니다. (항공권은 Economy Class로 출발지에서 인천공항까지 최단 거리를 이용 하여야 하며, 항공료는 과총에서 정한 지급기준 한도내에서 실제로 구입한 영수증 금액을 지급).  

선발인원:
총 8명. 전공분야 및 출신학교, 학/석/박사 학위 등을 안배해서 선발예정.

접수마감:
2008년 3월3일(월) 동부시간 5pm.

Announcement of Yong Generation Forum 2008 in Korea


The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) announced the Young Generation Forum (YGF) 2008 will be held in Korea from July 14 to 19, 2008. The YGF 2008 will bring 80 young generation from all over the world including Canada (8 participants) as well as 40 young generation Koreans.

YGF seeks to promote young Korean scientists, engineers and specialists
(1) to contribute to the advancement in contemporary science and technology
(2) to understand the current scientific and technological development in Korea
(3) to establish cooperative networking.

Eligibility:
Ethnic Korean-Canadian student (Junior (3rd), Senior (4th), Graduate, Ph.D. or Post-Doc) under age of 35 (born after 1974) whose major is related to Science and Technology and can communicate in English. (Note: Korean citizen student temporary studying abroad is not eligible.)
Must be 1.5th (attended a high school in CANADA) or 2nd generations of Korean immigrants who are citizens or permanent resident of CANADA (Korean citizen students studying abroad are not allowed to attend the forum).

Complete application form (download from www.acksecanada.org) and copy of CANADA passport (or Permanent Resident Card) and most recent transcript to
info@akcse.org (preferred) or mail them to the following address.
